OVERSIZED LOAD SUPPORT

Borgy’s was engaged to provide traffic and route support for an oversized transport movement travelling through a combination of regional roads, constrained intersections and restricted access points.

Before the load moved, the proposed route needed to be reviewed carefully to identify sections that could affect the transport. Road width, turning space, traffic conditions, intersections and access requirements all formed part of the planning process.

During the movement, Borgy’s worked alongside the heavy haulage driver and project team to provide pilot vehicle support, maintain clear communication and help coordinate the load through the more challenging sections of the journey.

The route included sections where road width, intersections and available turning space created additional challenges for the oversized movement. Careful preparation was required before departure to understand where additional coordination would be needed. Once on the road, changing traffic and operating conditions meant communication between the transport driver, pilots and project team needed to remain clear throughout the journey.

The oversized load was supported through each challenging section of the route, with pilot vehicles and the transport crew working together throughout the movement. By identifying potential issues early and maintaining clear on-road communication, Borgy’s helped the transport team keep the movement organised and progressing safely through to the final site access.
